I recently came across a friend's blog where she started posting daily pics of instagram photos that she had taken on her phone. I actually believe that most of our life is captured on my iPhone. I still love my big camera and the wonderful photos that can be taken with it, but honestly, three kids in tow doesn't always allow for my heavy camera bag. Therefore I decided that I will post an array of the moments captured on my phone every week. These photos are the little memories in life that happen that I know my kids will want to remember.

Chocolate Milk Please

"Please can I have some chocolate milk?" are words we hear in our household on a daily basis. The boys LOVE their morning chocolate milk. Little do they know we trick them each morning by warming milk and then adding chocolate protein powder to their sippy cups. Makes me feel better as a mom that I'm not starting their day full of sugar. They love to single together on our oversized chair, watch morning cartoons, and sipping their milk. I'm cherishing this morning ritual now because soon our mornings will be filled with making lunches and rushing out the door to school each day.

2012 is here! Hard to believe an entire year has passed. I have always heard that as you get older time moves faster and now I believe it. The kids are growing up right before our eyes. And we are loving every minute...well, maybe not the tantrum throwing, cries wailing, i don't want to go to bed moments..but I know that I will miss those moments too when they are older.

I have been thinking about blogging again but truly lacked motivation. After talking with Joe, Ive truly realized it is the quickest and easiest way to document our family's lives through the years. It will be such a neat way to show our kids what life was like when they were growing up...and all the fun we had! So here's to a new weekly blog post in 2012!! Don't expect anything fancy...just the simple doings of our family of 5!

Happy 4th Birthday!

Happy 4th Birthday to our lovable Logan. We cannot imagine life without you. You have brought so much joy, laughter, and happiness into our lives these past four years. It is hard to believe that it has been four years since you were known as "the 10 pd. baby" at Kaiser Hospital in WC. You continue to grow like a big boy! Here are some lovable traits that make you who you are today!

*you have an imagination that keeps changing. You love to change characters on a hourly basis...spiderman, batman, Aaron Stone, Michael Jackson, Jake of Neverland, pirate, Buzz Lightyear...

*you love and care about others, especially your little brother. You share and are always showing others you care by asking them if they need something or worrying when their sad.

*you have a smile that can light up any room. You love to give hugs!

*your humor is hilarious. Not sure where you come up with some of the things you say! Everyone laughs at your funny personality.

*you learned how to ride a two wheel bike with no training wheels this past year. Mommy and Daddywere so proud of you.

*you love superheroes, sports, trains, playing outside with bugs, and hot wheels. Pretty much all boy!

*you like to be independent. Your preschool teachers are amazed at how much you can do on your own!

*you love to help bake, read books and play hide and seek. Oh and wrestling is a fav with daddy!

*you are a dancing machine...especially Micheal Jackson:)

You continue to amaze daddy and I are on a daily basis. You are growing so much everyday! We love you to infinity and beyond!!

Cousins

Cousins are such a special bond. They are sometimes your first friends. Logan and James are so lucky to have 5 cousins close in age. I remember growing up and having so many cousins at all our family festivities. It just made the event that much more fun as a kid. Logan talks about his cousins often and is always excited to be around them. He has taken a "protective" big cousin role with his younger cousins Drew and Nolan and has formed a special friendship with his older cousin Ashlyn. He has a special bond with his cousin Savannah who is 5 months older. They get along so well and have each other's "back" at the park:) James has already gained a liking to his buddies Drew and Nolan that are both within a few months of age. He loves to watch the three older cousins play and tries to join in at times. Cousins make families special!

.....to Clayton that is!! We are so excited to be moving to the small, family friendly town of Clayton, CA. But we are not quite moving yet! Lots to do to the house before our family of four can call it home. The boys are loving the house thus far. James loves to run around screaming as it is so open with no furniture. Logan loves to be amongst the hammers, nails, piant and hard work put in by Joe and our fabulous moms and dads. He loved to be able to crawl "under" the house with Joe. His tool belt has been strapped to him since the remodeling started. Haesays"his working team" is doing a great job.

James tries to help with his fancy tool belt. Being one means lots of exploring, therefore a house full of projects isn't always the best exploring place. He only touched one wet wall of paint:)

We are set to move in a few weeks and couldn't be happier about our new location.

January..Came and went!!

Its hard to believe that we've completed our first month of 2011. Its been an exciting year this far and we are so excited for what lies ahead for the Knapps! We started the year ay my parents cabin. We spent about a week up there after christmas and it was such a nice get away. The boys loved playing in the snow. James loved sitting and feeling what the white stuff was all about! Logan took is first ski lesson. He loved skiing although a full day lesson was a touch too long for a 3 year old. Joe and I were so excited to see him on skis. We are looking forward to the day he can join us with a snowboard on top of the mountain.

January has come and gone but the next few months are full of exciting changes for our family. Happy 2011!!

Visit with Santa

We had our annual family christmas party this past weekend. It is such a fun time and the kids get a visit from the big guy! The Glover Fam! My mom got all the grandkids the cutest matching christmas outfits and we finally got a picture of them all together.

Logan was a little nervous of Santa but did have a good conversation about the truck and skateboard he would like under our tree. And James...I wish we had a video camera on, we may have one a million dollars. Joe out him on Santa's lap and all was well until James turned and looked at Santa in the eye. He let out a loud scream and his poor little body jumped. But don't we all have a crying Santa pic?

The PerfectTree

We continued our Knapp family tradition of heading out to Alhambra tree farm to cut down our perfect christmas tree. I love it! There is something abou watching the boys get lost amongst the trees, getting muddy, and hunting for the perfect tree. The boys ready to start the search!

I think Logan was just as excited for the saw than he was for the trees. And James...well, he just liked the dirt.

Logan kept saying "how about this one?" Then he would find a small one and say. "this is perfect for James!"

Brought our perfect tree home and Logan got to put the star on top! The star as been with Joe and I since we got our first tree together.

Now that the tree is decorated we just need to find a way to keep James from exploring all the ornaments. Tis the season!

First Haircut

It was time....James needed a haircut.

Too much hair near the ears and a little too much bedhead.

Last Tuesday we headed to Auntie Chaska's salon. Logan loves getting haircuts there because he gets a lollipop to enjoy while he gets pampered at The Candy Shop nearby. But James.....he didn't really love the pampering. I finally had to sit and hold him to get a few snips. Maybe next time will be better or I will be more prepared and armed with lots of snacks.

Trick or Treat 2010

Halloween is so much fun with all the little ones. If Logan had his choice I honestly think he would have changed his costume hourly since he wanted to be so many things.....Woody, transformer, GI joe, the list goes on. We finally settled on Spiderman but he did wear Mickey Mouse for half the day. On Saturday, all 6 cousins went to Grandma and Papa Train's house to carve pumpkins and visit Papa's clubhouse haunted house. This is the best picture we could get with all 6 kiddos. Our little garden gnome(James) was not a fan of costume picture taking. Look out.....here's Spiderman!

Our little garden gnome. Next year I won't wait until Halloween day to try a costume photo session. With all the commotion, the last thing they both wanted to do is sit and take pictures.

Hard to believe that Halloween has come and gone.....bring on Thanksgiving and Christmas. These cousins are ready for Santa!!!

World Series Champions!!

Tonight was a memorable night for Giants fans. We beat the Texas Rangers 3-1 to clinch the title...WORLD CHAMPS! Still hard to believe that the misfit team of Ross, Posey, Timmy, Wilson, Huff, etc....made it to the world series and won. Logan had a blast watching the series yelling"Go Posey" and "Giants Win!" October was so fun with all the orange and black for the Giants and a handful of "Fear the Beards" We even had a beard in our own household as Joe vowed not to shave until the Giants were out of the playoffs. One month later he is fearing the beard! We are so excited to head to the parade on Wednesday...Go Giants!! Hummmmm Baby!!

Its been awhile! Having two little guys taking up most of my time, I've come to realize that I have not been good with documenting their lives. So as of today, I sm going to use this to document to most everyday happenings in our Knapp Family as well as keeping family and friends updated. Here's to blogging!!!

Big Brother Logan

Joe and I are so happy to announce that Logan is going to be a big brother! We are expecting baby #2 in October!

It has been quite a journey to get to this point....2 miscarriages, lots of tests and a very nervous three months, but here we are! So far so good at 3 1/2 months. We feel so blessed.

I truly feel that God gave us these trials through the past year so that we can cherish moments like these much more. It has made my marriage, my love and my faith much stronger. I know I am stronger and I can hope that because of these trials, I may help support others going through similar rough times.

We are so excited and are looking forward to a fall baby. I think Logan is ready too since every time he says a baby he yells.."baby!" Here's to a happy and healthy 6 months!

Oak and Me

Joe and I watched the movie, Marley and Me this past weekend. I had read the book a few years ago and knew about the sad ending but seeing it in the movie was so much harder. Waterfalls were flowing at the end!
It really made me think about our lab Oak and the journey we have had with him. Joe surprised me on Christmas with this tiny, 8 week old puppy. We loved him from the start, even all the chewing, biting and messes. He instantly became apart of our family.
After Logan was born, Oak wasn't the center of attention anymore. We still loved him, just now had to spread the love. Oak's personality reminds me of Marley's...crazy but lovable.
Now that Logan is older, they are becoming best buds. It is so fun to watch Logan throw the ball, chase him, and lay on him as Oak tries to relax. Oak is so gentle and patient with him.
Although the movie was super sad, it really reminded us of the love of our dog. They truly are a man's..and toddler's best friend. We love you Oak!

Officially a Big Boy

Logan is officially a big boy now! The crib is gone and he has moved into a big boy bed. Not any big boy bed, but one made just for him by Grandpa Train. Logan has loved jumping up into bed and reading all sorts of books. He has even started using the headboard as a new shelf to help keep his books within reach. My dad, aka Grandpa Train, and Logan right after we assembled the new bedding. Can you tell Logan was so excited? And isn't my dad's wood working skills amazing? Thank Grandpa Train...we love it!!

Lots to Celebrate!

This past month we have had a lot to celebrate in the Knapp household. It started with Joe's 30th Birthday on the 15th. We headed to San Francisco for a nightout. We rented a great place called Il Pirata Bar and Restaurant. My parents watched Logan for the night so we were able to let loose and have fun! Our dinner club friends were able to make it out and let's just say, we all took advantage of a night without kids! Maybe a few too many shots but we had a great time! We all spent the night at the Westin St. Francis and were able to have a nice, quiet breakfast the next morning. It was a great night with lots of memories! I can't believe my husband is 30!

Next was Logan's 2nd birthday. Its hard to believe two years have gone by since our little guy was born. He is such a sparkle in our lives and I am grateful for all he has brought to our family. He is talking so much more and is so much fun. This year he was more involved in the birthday festivities. He even told you he was two! He especially loved blowing out the candles on his cake.

We had his birthday party the following weekend at Gymboree. What a fun place to have a party! The kids had a blast playing on all the structures and the best part was all I had to do was provid the cake! Logan is so into trains right now so I made a train on top of a sheet cake. Logan was so excited about and kept saying, "Choo, Choo".

It was a great month full of exciting birthdays, but I'm also glad its over. With two birthdays and valentines day I always feel so stressed in February. Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the year!

A Moment in the Sun

With all the rain we've had lately, it has been hard to be cooped up indoors. The other day we had a moment of sunshine so we headed outside...rainboots and all!

Big Boy, Big Bed

About a month ago, Logan fell out of his crib. Joe and I were relaxing after putting him to bed and we suddenly heard a very loud "thump" followed by screaming. At that moment I knew that my lovely full nights of sleep would be halted for sometime.

My dad made Logan's crib and graciously offered to make his big boy bed for his 2nd birthday. I was so excited because I think it is such a neat thing to have grandpa make your bed. Since we had to transition him so fast and his bed isn't ready yet, this is what we came up with. We just took the front railing off the crib. Works for now!! Although we continue to work on staying in our own bed!

Snow with "Kiki"

We headed up to the cabin this weekend for a fun time with the Bogetti Family. Joe and Drew met their first year in college and have been close friends ever since. We always have a great time with Drew and Kelly and now our kids can join in the fun. Katelyn and Logan had a blast in the snow. Logan couldn't quite say Katelyn's name so he just called her "Kiki". We woke up Sunday morning and the snow was falling! They loved throwing snow on the front deck.

Zoo Fun

This past weekend we took advantage of the beautiful January weather and headed out to the Oakland Zoo. What a fun place! Logan had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the many animals. His favorite was the monkeys. He kept saying.."Mon, Mon!!" and scratch his head just like the monkeys did.

The zoo had a children's play area where we ate lunch and Logan enjoyed the animals to climb on.

The giraffes we a hit as well. Logan was so excited when we walked up that he jumped out of the stroller and went running to the fence. We look forward to many more trips to the zoo!

Start of 2009

It's been awhile since I've blogged, so my new plan for the year is to set aside one day a week to document our family happenings.

So my blog is a little backwards. I am still having trouble trying to figure out this whole picture. They always show up backwards and I'm not sure how to move them.

The first set pf pictures are from our fun weekend at the cabin. It was fun having the entire family, brothers, sis in laws, parents, neices, Joe, Logan and I, up there in the snow.

This last picture is of my beloved grandma. Read on and you will read what was suppossed to be first on this post.

This year started out a little rocky. Our wonderful and caring Grandma "Bump" passed away on Jan. 3rd. She was such an amazing woman full of life and strength. Her warm smile taught us all to live life to the fullest and always have faith. Family was her greatest gift in lfe and it will continue to be ours. We will miss her dearly but know that she is at peace and with God. She will continue to be our angel until we meet again.

49er Faithful

Finally....we won!!! Over the past few years, the niners have really made it hard to stay a loyal fan. But with a new coach and a new attitude, maybe we are on the right track. Hopefully the next few seasons will bring better times for us 49er faithful!

Cabin Fever

This past weekend we headed up to the mountains for some much needed relaxation and outdoor fun. My parents have a cabin about an hour outside of Yosemite. Its amazing how the feel of the woods and calm atomsphere really force you to relax and enjoy the moment. We haven't been there in awhile so this was the first time Logan really had the oppurtnity to soak in the outdoor activities. Logan loved throwing rocks with dad. I think he especially liked all the fun in the dirt!

Jumping off the rocks were also a hit! We don't quite have the J sound down, so it was fun hearing, "dump" each time Logan jumped.

What a mountain boy! Helping dad and grandpa bring in firewood was so much fun! Who needs fancy toys that make noise when you have a stick and lots of dirt!

Now that winter is upon us, I know we will be heading up to the mountains again soon. Logan had such a blast, I can't wait to see what fun the snow brings for him!

Halloween was a new experience for us this year. My family has always had an annual haunted house full of scary scenes and fun. Since the grand kids arrived, my dad decided to take a step down and do the basic halloween activity...trick or treating! Let me just say, it wasn't the same and I bet there will be some kind of Glover Haunted House awaiting us next year!

Although Logan didn't experience a Glover haunted house, he did have a blast. He fit right in to how to acquire candy at the door. Superman walked right up to every door, following his two cousins and grabbed is fair share of treats!

Holidays are becoming much more fun now that Logan is older. Experiencing Halloween through a child's eyes have now gotten me much more excited for the lights and festivities that Christmas beholds!

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend my older brother Jeff got married! It was 3 days full of fun, excitement and love! It all started on Friday night with the rehearsal dinner. The dinner took place at Back Forty so the bride and groom made it a country western affair. We dressed western and were even lucky enough to have a live country band performing that night. Logan had a blast dancing in his cowboy boots! On Saturday morning we woke up and took the bride to be, Chaska, to Starbucks. It has become a fun tradition in my family to make a Starbucks run the morning of the wedding. We love to get the bride all decked out in her wedding day crown. Then it was back to the hotel for hair, makeup and champagne toasts. The main festivities began at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. It was such a beautiful place to get married. It truly fit so well with my brother and Chaska's personality. The night was so memorable. Logan looked so handsome in his little tuxedo. And he even walked down the aisle! My nieces also looked adorable in their little dresses. We all had such a great time! Jeff and Chaska are such a wonderful pair! I am so glad to welcome Chaska into the family and to now call her my sister. Here are a few pics.

A New Adventure!

Well we have decided to start a blog for the Knapp Family! I started thinking how I never get around to scrapbooking our lives or even writing in Logan's baby book these days. It seems as though the computer is the only place I can get a few things accomplished. When I found out you can make books out of your blog, it was a no brainer. Now I can use our blog as a journal. It will also be a great way for our far away friends and families to get updates. So here's to blogging! Enjoy!!
